Sunny Days

Kris had the day off last Monday and the weather was so beautiful we decided to go somewhere fun. At first we were going to take Jake to the children's museum--we've been trying to go for weeks now and everytime Monday rolls around there is something else we have to do. This day would have been perfect, however upon looking at the info online we saw that the Museum is closed on Mondays! What a DRAG!! So I thought for a bit and remembered the railroad park. We have never been there, but a friend of ours had talked about going sometime and that it was a very fun place to go. So we loaded up on sunscreen and water and headed out.

The McCormick-Stillman Railroad park has a ton of things to do; and the best part is admission is FREE. There are a couple of play areas for the kids, a train ride, snack area, picnic areas, old train cars to walk through- including the one President Eisenhower used during his presidency. There is also a building that houses model trains. At present there is no charge to walk through this building; however, when all the trains/railways are built they will begin charging admission there.

I would post pics, but BLOGGER is not allowing me to for some reason. You can click the link I posted above for the MS Railroad park to see the website photos for now.

It was a fun, relaxing day. We need to do it more often!!
