It's a Stay-cation!

Last year at this time we had recently come back from our big Disneyland/SoCal vacation.  This year we are conserving our funds since we have begun the adoption process; therefore, we are doing what we can to have fun on our "stay-cation".

Last week was our ten year anniversary and my birthday.  For my birthday,  Kris took me to Rainforest Cafe for lunch- because that's where I picked to eat out.  I love Rainforest Cafe! The food is always yummy, and you can't beat the atmosphere! After lunch, we took Jake to see Toy Story 3.  It was so cute; and I could not believe I actually teared up towards the end of it!  What a sap I am!

When we got home that evening my dad was waiting for us; along with my nephews.  Every summer I take my nephews for a week- it's a nice break for my brother and sister-in-law, and Jake gets to have someone to play with.  Since the next day was Father's Day I decided to order a cake. This way we could celebrate our anniversary, my birthday, and Father's Day with my dad all with one cake!  I did have one dilemma though...what to write on the cake??? I thought for a minute and this is what I came up with:

As hard as Father's Day usually is for us, we had a pretty good time celebrating my Dad.

The last few days have been spent going to swimming lessons...

Jake has graduated to the next level in swimming. Here is he with teacher Mr. John.

Going to the library...

Chuck E Cheese's...

and Vacation Bible School...!

This year's theme was "SeaQuest".  Here are a couple more pics from my classroom. I taught the 7-8 yr. olds.

It was tons of fun but we all slept in this morning from sheer exhaustion I think! It's a good tired, though!

  1. You are a busy lady!!! To go with your stay-cation, did you know there is a "water park" at the high school on Ironwood and Southern? It's like 2 bucks to get in! We went to one at a high school last summer, and it was a blast! I haven't been to this one so I don't know how good it is, but we plan on going before the summer is up for sure!!!
