Sale Day Success!

We began the day with the roosters at 5:00 a.m.   As expected, folks started pulling up in their cars before we could get it all set up.  It was a wonderful, exhausting, miraculous day.  My favorite part was a lady and her husband who drove up mid-morning, got out of the truck, and handed me a $10 bill.  She told me that she didn't want to buy anything- just wanted to donate and wish me luck.  I thanked her, put it in our money bag, and turned away to hide the tears.  She didn't even know us, yet she wanted to be a part of our journey! God bless her!

Many of our good friends came out and braved the crowds.  These friends, who had already donated items, came to help set up, promote sales, and then later on turn into shoppers themselves! (I've now learned which friends of mine possess hoarder instincts!)

Because we are still getting last minute payments for things, we do not have an official sales total; however, I can tell you that we more than doubled our goal of $500! What a blessing!

We want to thank everyone who had a part in making this day a HUGE success!  Here are a few pics of the day, including one of my friend and I showing off our sunburnt, exhausted selves.  After this post it will be time to eat some dinner, take a nice long shower, and catch up on all that sleep I missed last night!!

  1. AMAZING!!! Love the story of the $10 bill! I Would have had to hide the tears too. Its so good to hear stories about such good people. With so much bad that goes on, hardly ever hear of the good. God will definitely bless that couple for sure! Wish I could have done more to help, but sounds like you had plenty of help!
